Our crew at Reed's Sprayfoam Insulation first lined most of the ground of the crawl space with a 12 ml liner, treated with an antimicrobial finish that protects against mold and mildew growth on/under the liner. Secondly, the foundation walls were insulated with 2 inches of closed cell foam insulation which created an airtight seal to the liner. Lastly, the rim joists were lined with 4 inches of open cell foam, preventing any mold pores from escaping from the liner onto the rim joists.

We also insulated the walls with 4" of open cell foam insulation as well as filled gaps between wall cavities and sheet rock with foam. This created an airtight seal with 94% efficient air barrier to the building to maintain a comfortable area as well as prevent moisture in the area.

This previous customer reached back out to Reed’s with a large 20x40 building in Ashland KY. Our crews insulated the roof deck with open cell foam and applied a vapor barrier primer to the exposed wood surfaces to prevent moisture from getting into the wood. Then the exterior walls were insulated with 3 inches of open cell foam. This created an air tight thermal cap on the building.
