Good looking & long lasting! Rigid foam insulation can’t be damaged by moisture and won’t degrade in appearance or R-value over time. In a crawl space, it’s usually installed against the interior face of foundation walls.

Rigid foam insulation performs exceedingly better than fiberglass in a crawl space. Rigid insulation is manufactured in panels of different thicknesses. Installers cut the panels to fit against the interior face of crawl space foundation walls. Panels are attached with adhesive or mechanical fasteners.

Our solution included the earth of the crawl space was sealed with a liner made of a 12-mil 3-ply sandwich of high and low-density
polyethylene with polyester-cord reinforcement; the liner is treated with an antimicrobial finish that protects against mold and mildew growth on or under the liner.
The rim joist was also insulated with 4 nominal inches of open cell foam insulation. This will seal all air leaks in the rim

Our crews started off by spraying the crawl space with mold treatment to kill mold spores within the area. They then installed a 10 mil reinforced liner to the floor of the crawl space, sealing all seams with a tape designed for crawl spaces as well as sealing the liner to the walls of the crawl space with closed cell spray foam.
A dehumidifier was installed along with a condensation pump to discharge water our of the crawl space while keeping moisture from building in the encapsulated space.

Our crew removed and disposed of the existing insulation, then going over the entire area with a mold treatment to get rid of a prevent existing and future mold and mildew particles.
A 4" trench was dug around the perimeter of the home, connected to the preexisting sump pump unit to remove any and all water from the crawl space and foundation.
A demple mat along with a 20 ml liner were lined against the earth of the crawl space to create a barrier between the ground and the future encapsulated crawl space.
The wall were then lined with 2" of closed cell foam, sealing the liner and all foundation vents.
The rim joists were insulated with 4" of open cell foam, sealing off any air leaks and creating an air tight space, coupled with the crawl space encapsulation door.
