Attic

These homeowners called us because they had an extremely hot attic in the summer and an extremely cold attic in the winter. They wanted to use the space in their attic for storage, but didn't want those items to be exposed to the extreme temperatures because their attic wasn't insulated properly. It only had traditional fiberglass insulation laying on the cieling. In the winter, their attic would typcially reach temperatures as cold as 30 degrees and in the summer, it would get up to 130 degrees! In this project, we applied 6 inches of open cell spray foam insulation, which has a built-in ignition barrier, to the roof deck. The result is a much more comfortable attic that will stay within 15 degrees of the living space temperature year round.
